Szabó Csaba

Csaba started his career with the company group in 2005. As a result of his preciseness, accurateness and extraordinary economic insights, starting from 2007, he has been the Economic- and Operational Director of our Parliament Unit, and from 2009, also of New York Café and Boscolo Conference Center. He is a co-owner of Eventrend Holding through CER Kft., Jazz Event Kft. and Five Stars Kft.

Career

I started to work for Eventrend Group in the early 2000’s. I was the Sales Manager of the Wall Street Restaurant between 2005 and 2007. In 2007, when the company group took over the Parliament’s catering, I was appointed to the Economic- and Operational Director position.

Since 2009 we have also managed Hotel Boscolo, the New York Café and Conference Center. This is where I am working until today, as Economic Director and General Manager.

Thanks to one of my personal contacts, in 2011 we have successfully acquired the DIAGEO High Spirit bar, now forming part of Eventrend Group. I am a co-owner of Five Star Event Kft., operating this unit, with 13% of the shares. I have contributed to the set-up of the operation and the launch of the new project, to hand it over to Anita Kelemen, my Sales Manager. I am responsible for the continuous coordination with the property-owner JLL Co., the maintenance of our Agreement, drafting of annual plans and reports for the Eventrend Council of Directors.

In 2012, after the third successful year in a row, I became an Eventrend Holding Partner, through CER Kft, responsible for the operation of New York Café.

Thanks to one of my personal contacts, in 2013 we have successfully acquired the OPUS Jazz Club located in the Budapest Music Corner, now forming part of Eventrend Group. I am a co-owner of Jazz Event Kft., operating this unit, with 13% of the shares. I have contributed to the set-up of the operation and the launch of the new project, to hand it over to my business partner Jenő Magyary and my colleague Béla Nell. After a year with only minimal profit, we let this project go.

In 2014 Eventrend requested András Wolf, Jenő Magyary and myself to take on the operation of the new soccer stadium of Ferencvárosi Torna Club. In the pre-opening phase I was responsible for the preparation of operation agreements, economic plans, recruitment and the set-up of the operation. Presently I am performing the economic leadership and marketing functions.

I am committed to Eventrend for the long run. I believe in a business model that enables the replacement of my wages with capital yields in the future. I believe in contractual terms that on the long run are beneficial for all parties involved (Mini Holding, Eventrend, Senior Employees and Operational Venues) I believe in hard work, leading by example and the power of well-trained workforce. I believe in personal development, lifetime learning and the development of our companies, the development of the business. But, I also believe in moderation. I don’t think that I should go for every opportunity that arises on the market. I only take on jobs within the limits of my capacity, knowledge and abilities. Life only honors the job well done. In my experience, the owners, partners and clients of the company value our long-term motivation and success. So, that we can be proud of our work and its quality and feel good about our enterprises. Good - and well - for everyone.

What I’m Proud of

I am proud of my family. In today’s world, especially with the high demands of the job of a senior leader, it is a challenge to live a balanced private life. My soul mate and wife for 13 years, Edina, and I, we managed this. We have 2 happy, balanced and smart kids (and it’s not only my opinion), Jázmin and Zoárd. For me they are the three most important persons, providing a happy family background essential for my personal success.

I am proud to have participated in the leadership of New York Café, the most successful Hungarian catering business, and Salon Restaurant. So, the success of the business is a little bit of my success as well.

I am proud that I am a partner in the most successful Hungarian catering company group. And, I managed to aquire the respect of my earlier role models not only in this close circle of professionals, but also in other life situations.

I am proud of myself, my diligence, my perseverance and that this is verified by how my colleagues and direct reports look at me.
