Fakanál Restaurant

Brief Brand Description – USP
Located in the gallery of the Great Market Hall, Fakanál Restaurant has been serving classic Hungarian cuisine for more than 25 years, drawing on fresh market ingredients and well-known flavors. Dishes reminiscent of grandma’s cooking are accompanied by live Gypsy music and the unique atmosphere of the market hall. This is the place where Hungarian flavors, ambiance, and hospitality come together to create a truly unforgettable experience.
Presentation of the Gastronomic Concept
Fakanál is like arriving at your grandmother’s house. The irresistible aroma of potato casserole and homemade pie hits you as soon as you step into the entryway, and you know you won’t be going home hungry. We cook classic Hungarian home-style dishes—honestly, without any gimmicks—just the way you remember them, maybe even a little better. If you could only choose one thing, be sure to try our tasting platters, where you can enjoy a combination of goulash soup, pork stew, stuffed peppers, and homemade pickles all in one dish. Our guests keep coming back for the crispy sous-vide pork knuckle, our succulent pork stew, our unmissable goulash soup, and that special atmosphere they happily look back on even years later.

Professional Creed
The hospitality industry is a simple profession—or at least that’s how it looks from the outside. In reality, however, you have to prove every day that it works. I started out as a server, so I know exactly what happens on the „front lines.” As a manager, I don’t want to forget that, because in the long run, the only things that work well are the ones you understand from the ground up.
I don't believe in big words; I believe in consistency. In the fact that you have to perform at the same level on Monday at noon as you do on Saturday morning. The key to this is the team and a well-developed system—people who not only work together but also maintain a high standard together.
My goal is simple: to grow without losing sight of what made it worth starting in the first place—in terms of quality, operations, and our approach to people. For me, quality is non-negotiable, and neither are human values.
I am proud of the journey we have taken and of the people who have been with me every step of the way, including my family.
