What types of dining establishments do Hungarians prefer? Why do pastry shops top the list?

What types of dining establishments do Hungarians prefer? Why do pastry shops lead the way? The second part of a representative survey commissioned by the Eventrend Group examined popularity trends in the Hungarian hospitality industry. The results show that in our fast-paced world, places where we can relax for a short time and be served are playing an increasingly important role—and pastry shops perfectly meet this need. In contrast, fine-dining restaurants continue to offer an attractive gastronomic experience for a more select group. The results also show that Hungary is gradually catching up with Western European consumer habits: dining out is increasingly becoming part of everyday life, rather than being limited to special occasions. Meanwhile, sustainability and food sensitivity are having an increasingly significant impact on the offerings, a trend that is also evident in pastry shops. The two founding owners of Eventrend Group, Zoltán Kőrössy and Gábor Nagy, along with Gabriella Bella, the group’s press and PR director, discussed the details and the most interesting findings with host András Érczfalvi.
