About Us
Located in the gallery of the Great Market Hall, Fakanál Restaurant has been serving classic Hungarian cuisine for more than 25 years, drawing on fresh market ingredients and well-known flavors. Dishes reminiscent of grandma’s cooking are accompanied by live Gypsy music and the unique atmosphere of the market hall. This is the place where Hungarian flavors, ambiance, and hospitality come together to create a truly unforgettable experience.

The hospitality industry is a simple profession—or at least that’s how it looks from the outside. In reality, however, you have to prove every day that it works. I started out as a server, so I know exactly what happens on the „front lines.” As a manager, I don’t want to forget that, because in the long run, the only things that work well are the ones you understand from the ground up.
I don't believe in big words; I believe in consistency. In the fact that you have to perform at the same level on Monday at noon as you do on Saturday morning. The key to this is the team and a well-developed system—people who not only work together but also maintain a high standard together.
My goal is simple: to grow without losing sight of what made it worth starting in the first place—in terms of quality, operations, and our approach to people. For me, quality is non-negotiable, and neither are human values.
I am proud of the journey we have taken and of the people who have been with me every step of the way, including my family.
